What is a Pronoun?

A pronoun is a word that takes the place of a noun. It is used to avoid repeating the same noun in a sentence or across multiple sentences.

āϏāϰ্āĻŦāύাāĻŽ (Pronoun) āĻšāϞো āĻāĻ•āϟি āĻļāĻŦ্āĻĻ āϝা āĻŦিāĻļেāώ্āϝ āĻŦা āύাāĻŽেāϰ āĻĒāϰিāĻŦāϰ্āϤে āĻŦ্āϝāĻŦāĻšৃāϤ āĻšāϝ়। āĻāϟি āĻŦাāĻ•্āϝে āĻŦিāĻļেāώ্āϝেāϰ āĻĒুāύāϰাāĻŦৃāϤ্āϤি āĻāĻĄ়াāϤে āϏাāĻšাāϝ্āϝ āĻ•āϰে।







Kinds of Pronoun and Examples

There are several types of pronouns. Here are the main types:

  1. Personal Pronoun:

    • Refers to a specific person or thing.
    • Examples: I, you, he, she, it, we, they
    • āĻŦাংāϞা: āĻŦিāĻļেāώāĻ­াāĻŦে āĻŦ্āϝāĻ•্āϤি āĻŦা āĻŦāϏ্āϤুāϰ āĻĒ্āϰāϤি āύিāϰ্āĻĻেāĻļ āĻ•āϰে।
      • āωāĻĻাāĻšāϰāĻŖ: āφāĻŽি, āϤুāĻŽি, āϏে, āϤাāϰা
  2. Demonstrative Pronoun:

    • Points to a specific thing or things.
    • Examples: this, that, these, those
    • āĻŦাংāϞা: āύিāϰ্āĻĻিāώ্āϟ āĻŦāϏ্āϤু āĻŦা āĻŦ্āϝāĻ•্āϤিāϰ āĻĻিāĻ•ে āύিāϰ্āĻĻেāĻļ āĻ•āϰে।
      • āωāĻĻাāĻšāϰāĻŖ: āĻāϟা, āϏেāϟা, āĻāĻ—ুāϞো, āĻ“āĻ—ুāϞো
  3. Possessive Pronoun:

    • Shows ownership or possession.
    • Examples: mine, yours, his, hers, ours, theirs
    • āĻŦাংāϞা: āĻŽাāϞিāĻ•াāύা āĻŦা āĻ…āϧিāĻ•াāϰেāϰ āĻĒ্āϰāϤি āύিāϰ্āĻĻেāĻļ āĻ•āϰে।

  4. Reflexive Pronoun:

    • Refers back to the subject of the sentence.
    • Examples: myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself, ourselves, themselves

  5. Relative Pronoun:

    • Introduces a clause and connects it to the noun.
    • Examples: who, whom, whose, which, that
